Until our last vaca, my 4 1/2 year old 995 shot amazing pictures. Great in sunlight, distances, close-ups, twilight w/or w/o flash. But, my good luck has ended, and now I got odd colors (usually streaks) across the LCD. I was *hoping* it was a bad LCD, but that the pics would be fine, but no luck. I saw a previous thread mentioning a light leak, does that seem possible here, too? See attached.

Never heard of a light leak problem with a digital camera. I don't think that's the case because it's a sealed camera - what happens with older film cameras is that something (like the film door) can get out of alignment or foam light seals can wear out. Nothing like that applies to a compact digital.
You could have Nikon repair it, but I'm afraid that the repair charge might not be worth your while. It's worth a call to them to see what they say though. The last camera that they made that was like that was the Coolpix 4500 which has been discontinued for awhile. You could find a used one (or another 995) for probably less than the price of the repair. Sorry! :(
