Another "real world" test shot. ISO 100 f8@125th. This photo (the closeup is a 1:1 crop) has been resized and sharpened. Thats all. No white balance, no contrast, color correction, etc. This was taken this time with a truly cheap lens!

I will reveal camera type on Monday the 13 of June, 2005. Or late Sunday.

Very sharp with good color and contrast. Clean image as well.

Well I don't know what is your definition of a cheap lense but the color rendition and the sharpness is remarkable. Obviously, it would certainly appears even sharper and more textured if it was shot with a better lighting but it seems extremely promising.

I am curious to discover which camera you are using although I have a guess....

Thanks for the comments. Being the weekend (hah!) I'd have responded sooner but this project got out of control. It has also gotten quite interesting which I'm working on the details to share. More in the next two posts.
