Hello all, I found this site a few days ago and thought I'd finally take the leap and put out some of my photos, which naturally "I" think are good. But, I'd really be interested in all of your opinions. I am new to photography having just been shooting pics for a few years (since I got my first digital 2 1/2 years ago.). But I have never had the guts to publish anything. I only use a Kodak DX4330 3.0 MP Point and Shoot, but am trying to upgrade to a DSLR soon.
Anyway...I hope you enjoy this. It was taken last week, looking west over Platteville, WI towards the Mississippi River.
I hope I do this correct...
Ken

Pretty good first post, and welcome. Personally I'd like to see the sky a little brighter and the horizon straightened. This certainly has an interesting cloud pattern.

Look forward to seeing more, and check out the galleries, some really good sunsets scattered about.

Ken, welcome to the forum! It's nice to see another Wisconsinite on the boards. I went to school in Platteville! I really like the colors in your sunset too, and the clouds are very nice! Welcome again.

Hello Ken,

Welcome to PR! Great first post. Nice colors.

If you're looking for lots of feedback on your photo's, Critique is really the place to post them. And as you'll see, most of us frequent several of the forums here.

Welcome aboard!

Hey, Mike and Ken. I'm thinking of being at the Hyde MIll if the weather is halfways decent on Sunday afternoon/evening. Want to meet there?

Sorry Chunk, got a wedding this weekend in Janesville so will be tied up there. However, I'd love to get a chance to meet both you neighbors soon and compare photos.

Nice to meet all of you and thanks for the great comments...made me feel very welcome.

Hi DRG...actually for this shot, I am unable to straighten the horizon as it is rather hilly around here. If you look at the tree on the left, it is basically perpendicular and will give you a bit of a better perspective than the horizon. As for the darkness...yeah..that is kind of a theme of mine. I seem to capture things that are rather dark. However, I do have some light things also. I'll try to post some soon. Thanks for the comments.
