I took this one for the WOW factor but I'm not sure i did it justice, it still looks less impressive than I'd like for a tree trunk that weighs over 13 tons. Suggestions are welcome.

That is an impressive sight of that huge trunk being raised out of the ground (sorta reminds me of when i had my wisdom tooth pulled) There are a few things getting in the way of this such as the machinary on the right . I feel if you were to have been a few feet over to your left it would have allowed a less busy obstructed view, but that may not have been possible. I will say also that in this shot, the colors are not adding any benefit and a conversion to b&w might help enhance the appearance of the trunk against the sky and make the machinary on the right less distracting and possibly more interesting.

I like the image better in color. You did a great job with color saturation, they are very vivid. As Gary pointed out the photograph is very busy and detracts some from the whole point of you image the hugh tree trunk. I do like how you framed the workman in the curve of the tree trunk. If that could have been isolated more I think the picture would have had more impact.
